2018 Reno River Festival

Headed down to the Reno River Festival held along the white water park created along the Truckee River in Wingfield Park.  It's quite a weekend filled with music, food booths, crafts, information about our area, and of course, some fantastic competition.   This has been held for a few years but it was my first time attending some of the competitions.

Once again I'm amazed by the level of athetlicism that live in and visits the area.  I sat down on the rocks along the river bank and watched the preliminaries for the youth, women's and men's freestyle whitewater kayak.  All types of tricks were turned in the water (ones that I'd probably drown attempting) and they were amazing.  Loops, rolls, and some names that were as funny sounding as they were amazing to see pulled off.

Definitely worth the trip to Reno if you haven't seen this type of competition before.  I'll certainly be heading back to see it again.  Absolutely cool!

Enjoy some of the photos from the event.
